Service Description

Adult Contemporary Dance - Beginner 18+ with Charlie Lloyd Byrnes. Various styles, including classical ballet, jazz, lyrical dance, and acrobatics, influence contemporary dance. In this class, dancers will use combinations and freestyling techniques to enhance their dynamics and musicality. Participants will improve their performance quality and stamina while developing their dance ability, flexibility, strength, and musicality. Contemporary dance provides freedom of movement, making it accessible for dancers with varying levels of training or technique without the requirement for perfect turnout or footwork. This style of dance focuses expressing emotions, story, qualities, ideas, themes, and abstracted, artistic concepts, through the body’s innate expressiveness. Techniques covered: - Technique Development - Introduction to Contemporary Dance - Embodiment Practices - Creative Development - Improvisation - Quality and Sensation: Thematic Exploration - Choreography Development - Explorations in Movement - Flexibility Training - Floor Work Techniques - Exploring Weight, Balance, and Coordination Term fees $250 inclusive of GST Annual fee $60 single / $80 family + GST

Cancellation Policy

NOTE: There are no refunds for missed classes. If a student is unable to attend a class due to illness, injury or compassionate grounds, a makeup class can be taken before the end of each term. CLASS cancellations are sometimes necessary. If class cancellation occurs and make up classes are not available, a refund will be offered for the pro-rata cost of the cancelled class. We will use our best endeavours to accommodate the needs of families but cannot guarantee the rescheduled classes will suit all.
